Oxyfi defines onboard ICT infrastructure as comprising two fundamental components:
Our Onboard ICT Infrastructure simplifies the startup, continuous operation, and maintenance of various onboard applications that share the same type of resources.
A third-party application provider no longer needs to allocate resources for establishing internet connectivity, creating a local network for access to onboard sensors, or building an MQTT broker for system integration purposes. Additionally, application providers can rely on a pre-existing software execution environment to run their applications. These are just a few of the benefits. This model for building onboard applications is recognized as significantly more cost-effective than traditional silo-based models common in the railway industry.
