Revolutionizing Railway Applications with Shared Onboard ICT Infrastructure

Oxyfi defines onboard ICT infrastructure as comprising two fundamental components:

  • Onboard hardware: Includes computers, switches, LAN cables, 5G modules, IP cameras, antenna systems, power supplies, and related components
  • A distributed software platform that orchestrates not only the above mentioned hardware but also networks and application software executing onboard

Our Onboard ICT Infrastructure simplifies the startup, continuous operation, and maintenance of various onboard applications that share the same type of resources.

A third-party application provider no longer needs to allocate resources for establishing internet connectivity, creating a local network for access to onboard sensors, or building an MQTT broker for system integration purposes. Additionally, application providers can rely on a pre-existing software execution environment to run their applications. These are just a few of the benefits. This model for building onboard applications is recognized as significantly more cost-effective than traditional silo-based models common in the railway industry.
