Oxyfi has been awarded contracts from two Swedish, undisclosed public transport authorities to upgrade their existing onboard Internet (IOB) solutions to multiple aggregated 5G connections. This marks the first commercial installation of Oxyfi’s world-unique concept for connected rolling stock – OxBox.
A milestone for Oxyfi
With OxBox, more than 15 years of experience in connected trains is packaged into an easy-to-install, roof-mounted solution. By housing the entire connectivity system in a robust box, installation time is minimized, maintenance is straightforward, and future upgrades are seamless.
For the digitalised railway of the future
OxBox is designed to deliver very high performance on fast-moving vehicles and can be easily complemented with, for example, satellite communication. The unit is carefully engineered, combining multiple smart design choices into a robust, well-functioning whole that does not require radio expertise to install.
“This is an important milestone for us – our first commercial installation of OxBox. We look forward to demonstrating in practice how the solution meets the high demands of tomorrow’s digitalized railway,” says Håkan Larsson, CEO of Oxyfi.
